There's also a C4 convertible sitting at a dealer here in Albany, GA for the same price, complete with working trans.

Whine whine, talk about complicating my life.
I'm looking at a C3 vette tomorrow morning. It's not as good of a car as the C4 but it's a hell of a lot prettier. Well, if the C3 is rusty maybe I'll go for this one. (The C4 has an aluminum frame, right?)
