ICYMI: Reservations for Rooms at the Host Hotel Are Now Open

Need a palace to stay for the 2021 $2000 Challenge? Why not the host hotel, the Best Western Gateway Grand?

Prices are $119 for a king and $129 for a double. Head over to the $2000 Challenge site for more information on how to reserve a room.

I grabbed my phone yesterday to call in my reservation. Pulled up the main Challenge site to get the hotel's number and was pleased to learn that we can reserve our room(s) online this year!

Just tried to book online. Apparently the room prices are not showing up. Prices I saw are substantially more.

The group block is full.  They just had me leave a message with the sales lady to see if they could get me a room at that rate.

I just called and talked to Laura in sells. She got me the group rate. You need to call 3523313336 during normal business hours.

Reserved.  I spoke with Laurie, not Laura.  So maybe just kinda mumble an L name with an R somewhere in it when you call?

Hell, hearing Laurie could have been my hearing.  Like I said, ask for a woman with an L and an R in her name.

I just talked to Lori, and they opened more rooms up for Wednesday night, but all other nights have plenty of availability and make sure you ask for the Grassroots room block.

Anyone ever camp at the track?

we're attending but still haven't booked hotel yet. Whoops

Camping isn't allowed at the track. Do you have an RV or do you tent camp?

No RV. Was thinking just getting drunk and passing out on the trailer deck.

There's some street parking at the dead end outside the hotel, we'll be parking there(if there's room). If not I'll just park in the gravel trailer lot, I doubt the hotel would notice or likely even care much. We'll still be supporting their restaurant at least.
