Man you didn't even try.

The crossmember can be removed with the lower control arms attached. Easiest way is to remove the lower ball joint and the tie rods and the lower shock bolt and it drops right out. Just have to support the motor and your good to go. Only thing is you need to have the springs buttoned down or when you remove the ball joint it will send the a control arm to it's farthest straight down position. Spring won't come out but it will be very unnerving when it happens.

Learned that the hard way in my younger follies taking these apart for repairs.
