Tire Rack has good info on offset, wheel size etc. online. You can also call them and get help.

Right, and you have wheels that are close to what you really need, so you can make tweaks to the measurements on your current wheels to help you figure out what you need.

I think Summit is going to offer more wheels like the ones that are currently on the truck vs. Tire Rack's when you ultimately decide to buy new wheels if you go that route.

You maybe able to keep the wheels and just get lower profile tire in the front...

I am running 235/50/17's in the front and 255/65/17's in the rear. Different truck and setup, but you get the idea.

Bring to it's natural home here and I'll measure it for you. It'll be close to standard hobby stock IMCA wheels. Speedway will have a lot of choices.

Natural home - so funny, so true! I was counting on you moving to NORCAL, so you can come down and hang out here all the time!

Those are high profile for the front. How much room do you need?  Where is the wheel/tire hitting? Maybe something like a 205/45/15 might make it.

I not a Chevy guy but I think those are Super Sport or Rally wheels.  Might be worth something.

Thanks.  It's a 1953 Ford F100 panel truck.  Home built hot rod.  Currently running 1978 Dodge 360ci with 1993 Torqueflite 518 with over drive.

It's hitting the top of the fender on turns

I am pretty sure shorter tire will get me out of this jam

yeah they are rally wheels

I love your hot rod. Would love one someday

If it's just hitting the top of the fender, a lower profile tire should fix it . Check on the inside and make sure it not hitting the A arms on full lock turn.

Will check it

if you look at tire it is getting dirty on a turn when it hits the fender from inside

I will go to the warehouse at lunch and take some measurements

local friend also suggested a 6infh width rim vs the 7 inch width I have

205's fit decently on a 6.5" wide wheel.  I think if I was changing wheels I'd look at getting the offset tweaked to bring the wheel in closer to the body a little as well.

I might try a 50 series front tire to see if that works.

While working on the Ford today (still need to take the wheel measurements). Woman stopped by (good looking mid 40s). Left her phone number, and said her husband has a lot of projects. She would like to sell me 2 of them. She said they need a lot of work, and she doesn't want her husband to work on them.

57 GMC 1 ton

55 Chevy 2 Ton

Said her husband doesn't want to sell, but for me to come over.

Not sure if that is smart

Be aware that neither of those trucks are typical hot rod fare, especially the 2-ton. Very little outside of the cab will be compatible with the 1/2 tons and even then neither of those are desirable years/models.
