Cool, i'll try those, hard to be worse than what I have now.
Since my BRZ still has not arrived I decided to autocross the SE-R.
Car did better than I expected. The tires, though brand new, leave much to be desired from a grip standpoint. This car isn't destined to be an autocross weapon so that is fine.
The autocross was fun and we got five runs in. Overall a nice way to spend a Saturday.

You are making great progress man! Really pumped to keep following along. What exhaust is on the car? Are you happy with it? I have a brand new in the box BRM mandrel-bent cat-back (period correct) setup that I'm not going to use if you are interested. BRM was actually my dad's company that he gave to the same guy he gave NICO club to. They were pretty much the only company that focused on Nissan platforms exclusively. Really nice deep resonance in the exhaust. I have pictures of it in the rally car thread. Let me know.

I appreciate the offer but the car has a mandrel bent 2.5 exhaust on it all ready.
I am really enjoying fixing the car up, and can't wait to get it painted.
In other news, the car and I are making the trek to Amelia island Saturday for the concours de lemons. Who would have thought a three tone 30 year old Sentra would make it on to the green of one of the world's most prestigious automotive events...
Entered the SE-R in the concours de lemons. Had a great time looking at all the cars. Hopefully next year it will be nice enough to move up to the radwood field!
Man, seeing this makes me miss the two I have had so much. Where is that Cars and Coffee that you went to? I'm in the lovely Central FL area.
I hit the junk yard this morning for the 50% off sale. I scored a set of really nice quarter windows with almost perfect rubber, a nice headliner board, a factory grille and several little trim pieces I was missing.
Hopefully I have a friend who is going to do the body work for me this month.

Getting the car ready to drop off for paint. Pulled the handles, lights, trim pieces, rear windows, and the rubber seals.
I was able to salvage the SE-R logos.
On the way to the paint shop.
Cleaned up the windows with the good rubber for installation once paint is finished.
They have already started on the body work.
I pick the car up Friday. Getting close to being finished.
Windows went back in this afternoon after I took the pictures. He still has to wet sand and buff, finish the bumper and hood, and paint the lower panels grey again. I am looking forward to picking it up when its all finished!

I can't wait to see this reassembled with the fresh paint. I had a black '91 as my first fun only car, and it was a blast!
Picked up the SE-R today. Paint came out great!
Rear windshield will get installed Tuesday.

I was at Lime Rock a couple of weeks ago for a car show which was filled with odd and wonderful cars. In pulled a young guy with what appeared to be a bone-stock SER with his young son in a car seat in the back. People were all over that car as soon as they got out of it.
I think that body style has aged well and it was such a wonderful car for the time.

And what flavor of 911 did your neighbor pick up? Looks like some sort of GT version.
It's a GT2 RS. It's tuned and makes north of 700 at the wheels. He had the spoiler off for awhile but put it back on at the urging of the shop that tuned it. Apparently it gets very squirrelly without it!
I am trying to convince him to enter it in the challenge...

Fresh clean black paint is a thing of beauty!
Continuing down the passenger side, I installed new rubber window runs, re installed the mirror, installed a new door felt and added new weather stripping to the door.
Can't wait to get this thing buttoned up.
I also re installed the lock and the outer door handle. While I had everything apart I removed the tint from the passenger window.
