I intended to get more metal on it today, but today was physio (deep-tissue-massage, IMS, electro-shock) and I'm usually lucky if I can even tie my own shoes after that....

Disassembled the 4L80E today. The thing is absolutely mint inside. Zero debris in the pan or anything, all the clutches are in spec.
Ordered a full set of gaskets, new sprags just 'cuz, a TH400 direct piston, and extra friction and steel, and stuff to rollerize everything.

Having a crepe "date breakfast" with Mrs. Skinny today, and I think I'm not going to paint the whole interior right now.
The plan was to get all that out of the way, but the reality is I have a narrow window to get it done in, and if things go wrong, I'm going to have a problem and no time to deal with it.
Instead, I'll spray the firewall as planned so the cab can go on the frame with the motor in it, and then continue with other paint prep details and really focus on getting all the paint on next summer as I originally intended. I'd have the whole summer to spray colour, which is a LOT of time. Should be less stressful.
I tend to fill my off time with so much, that I don't really relax before I'm back at work. I shouldn't be doing that.
The other motivator, is the PPG ESS Hardener expires 14 days after being opened. The bottle expires Monday. Seems like a waste to not use it, but I think I'm better off just sucking it up and just get a new bottle when I'm good and ready.
All part of protecting my mind, I guess.

Sprayed "Mouse Gray" (RAL 7005) which is a match for Ford Engine Gray on the firewall. This is the engine colour, as well as the final interior colour. PPG Delfleet Essential, mixed 6:1:1:3, the 3 being PPG DX-10-FLT flattening paste to get a semi-gloss. It might be a bit too glossy for me, but I don't exactly wash my vehicles often....
Cab will be going back on the chassis when the transmission is done.
Machined the 4L80 Forward clutch hub, Center Support, and Reaction Carrier for torrington bearings. With a rollerized output shaft, this unit will be fully rollerized.

For those of us less fluent in auto-box speak, care to explain what this means? My WAG is that this sounds like thrust control of some known weak spots via roller bearings instead of thrust surfaces in order to handle the higher expected loads?
