Help me avoid the hellscape of Craigslist.
Selling my former daily. Stock silver 08 Toyota Yaris S hatchback. Bone stock 5 speed. 185,3xx miles.
The good:
Runs & drives perfectly. Motor still strong for a Yaris.
AC & power windows still work.
Clean title. Clean interior.
Only a couple of small rust spots in the rear wheelarch forming
Well maintained. Replaced starter during my ownership. Front brakes not long ago.
Got 41mpg on a 10 hour round trip (RI to NY) over the summer
The bad:
Needs front suspension ($250 from Rock Auto)
Very recent intermittent CEL for an O2 sensor ($50) that popped up after the car sat (it's been sitting since late October). Currently not showing any CEL/codes.
Rear drums either need adjustment or new pads.
Clunk from the front end that's either a strut or trans mount.
The college kid owner before me left it with a million dings/dents. Clearcoat failed on roof.
Gearbox crunches when you shift from 3rd to 2nd over 20mph.
The rear hatch struts are dead and the spot weld on one pulled out.
It's presumably on the original clutch, which still works perfectly.
The indifferent(?)
It's on steelies with good winter tires on them. Will include the factory 5 spoke alloys (with dead/vandalized tires on them) in the sale. One of them was curbed pretty hard by the previous owner, but holds air fine and is straight.
It would make a great daily for the next owner with some repairs. It's been a fantastic car for me for the past 7.5 years and 83k miles. A good, honest cheap car.
Located in North Providence RI. $2000 will take it off my hands.
