Are people remembering the Integra in its original, stock form, or are they remembering the Integra as the modded street machines they once had?

I for one am remembering the bone-stock '87 Integra GS I had, which I bought for $500 in 1995 and drove to 280k miles with oil changes and two fuel injectors replaced, plus some tires :) It was a great car for a broke college student (and way cooler than the POS Escorts most of my classmates were driving). I remember it being reliable and fun, but that was before I was really "into" cars anyhow. If I drove one today, I'd probably have a different opinion of it :)

I was a jeep enthusiast back in the day when they came out with the 4 door JK. I hated it. I thought it was stupid. I thought it ruined everything good about jeeps. Then they sold a billion of them. You barely ever see a new two door wrangler anymore. Enthusiasts and purists ain't where the money is. These will sell just fine and honda knows it.

The taxicab yellow and giant Integra sticker are doing it no favors.

I guess I am the only one who likes the color.

I would lose the big banner graphic though.

You're not. I actively like the yellow. I'm ambivalent about the graphic, but I don't hate it.

So really if they called it a GSR it would be better?

50 people in the continental US care about the GSR designation at this point.

And NO, enthusiast enthusiasm  doesn't spill over into the majority of the buying public.  If it did, there would be more enthusiasts.

You know, Acura didn't even fit a GS-R badge to the DC Integra.

And lots of Punisher stickers to go with them!

sorry, had to. I know it's OT.

Umm.... wrong? GSR's were available in the 94-01 Integra ("DC").  The DA Integras did not get a GS. The DB got them (92-93). The DC5 is the RSX in the US.

I think we've all overlooked the fact that they're giving us a base model Integra with 5 lug hubs so no one will have to go through the trouble of changing theirs.

I believe he's just pointing out that GSRs never actually had a badge that said that for the DC generation, which is true as far as I know. He's not saying there was no GSR.

I'd honestly take the 2nd gen Aztec over the Integra.... glad the Integra has name graphics on it's side though, would honestly have no idea it's the new integra otherwise...

U.G.L.Y.... Honda boring design from the past decade really turns me off... Only modern vehicle I like from them design wise is the 3rd gen NSX... Too bad this integra is nothing like the coupe concept... that was acceptable as an Integra and needed zero badging to let you know what it was.

Toyota/Lexus has replaced Honda/Acura for me... (Honda's been dead to me since the 2000's when they dropped double-wishbone suspension and killed off the Integra and bloated the Civic.) If only the GR Yaris would be brought over....that's a more exciting car than anything Honda currently has or has had in the past decade.

I remember mistaking a newer civic for an accord a few years back when I had my FR-S... It was so massive compared to my FR-S I was absolutely sure it had to be an Accord... nope just an obese Civic Sport.

I think the graphic makes it look like it sits higher than it actually does (at least in pictures) causing the "it's a crossover" comments. I would prefer it without the graphics.

I still don't see the ugly.  To my eye it's a genuinely attractive medium/small size sporty car.

I was thinking the opposite; without the massive graphic to break up the immense side profile it would be easier to see how Crosstour-ish it actually is.

 Another boring 4 door. Yawn.

 Not surprised at all.

Most of today's cars that are available in both coupe and sedan are designed as sedan first and coupe second in contrast to the '90s. That's why '80s-'90s four doors look so derpy when you gave them those tall back windows. Today a coupe version looks almost exactly like the sedan just with two bigger doors and an awkward area directly behind them.

Gotcha. I mean, they didn't put a type-S badge on the 04-06 TL's but they still made them. I don't see anyone looking for a badge here, I see them looking for a real performance car.

This isn't an ugly car, it's just not what a lot of us hoped for (and I'm not even a normal honda guy).

I agree. I wonder if someone will get rich selling "macan door moulding" style decals.

I can't be upset by a new car with a stick.  I dont care how it looks.  I wish all new cars didn't suffer from gigantism, but im glad a new car with a stick exists.
