The off topic thread here https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/minor-confession-thread/63854/page191/#post2740693

made me think for a few minutes about engine sizes I've owned. 6.3l (383), 1.8, 302, 350, 351, 3.0, 289, 3.5, 2.3 turbo, 3.2, 2.8, 5.4, 4.0, 3.8, 304...never a supercharged engine, factory or aftermarket.

Makes me want to create a checklist of engines I need to own

I've owned a 500 but not in a car. Smallest was a 1300. In a VW but not running.

The 3 responses above are what made me think the topic was interesting.

Some have owned everything imaginable, and some are tight within a group. No corollary for society, I think, but fun and interesting nonetheless.

440ci, 5.9 (360ci), 5.9 (359ci), 2 350s, 5.2, 305, 4.3, 4.0, 3.9, 3.1, 2.5, and 1.9.

1 turbo diesel, rest were NA gas. Only the 1st 350 had a carb but the 2nd 350 is soon to have the same carb. All were American except for the 2.5, it was a BMW.

1.6 to 7.5L in cars and trucks, unless I get to count the Wolseley, which doesn't actually have an engine with it, but would get me down to 1.0L based on what came in it from the factory.

In motorcycles, from 160 to 1000cc.

Model airplanes from 0.010 cubic inches to 0.35 cubic inches :)

The thing is, I've only had 12 cars over the last 28 years (since I turned 18; the cars before that all belonged to my parents).

One was a Honda, one was a Chevy, and the others are all Fords.

I’m in the tight grouping...I guess I know what I like. laugh In cars I’ve had 1.3, 1.6-four different examples, 1.8, and 2.0 liters, all four cylinders.

In bikes I’ve had mostly singles and fours (and one v-twin) 125, 250, 350-four different times, 400, 550, 690, and 800.
