Part of me is disappointed too. But I know how much more disappointed I'll be if I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere Tennessee waiting on a tow truck while everyone else is enjoying the challenge.
A lot of things came at me really fast in the last week that have sucked up my energy for shenanigans. Lot of people here have pitched in which does really help, and I appreciate you all.
Well I got the INPA software hooked up today and did find a 209 code for EWS. I did not do anything other than read the codes for now though, since it is starting. But I believe I have confirmed the issue to be immobilizer related.
I will of course bring my laptop with the INPA software to the challenge so if I have to do a reset in the pits I should be able to!

Well, as always it has been an action-packed first couple of challenge days.
Here's the car in as-raced spec. All I did was add 245/40 17 re71 nearly-used-up tires ($50), and wheels to fit them. The wheels were wrong bolt pattern of course so I also had to get some adapters. Then I bolted in the seats I picked up from svrex on the way down here, and here we are.
The car performed VERY well, scoring a top time in gtw$ autox and running a 14.440 in the quarter mile.
So far, I have not had any more immobilizer issues.

Blue cart thingy is now registered in Florida... now I just need seats, seat belts, some roll bar additions, bumpers etc...
Is it "registered in florida" or did you "slap a dealer tag on it"?

I'm not sure which Jeremy did, but it's so easy to register things here that it nearly takes longer to install/uninstall my transporter tag than it does to go to the tag office and get a plate. My local DMV shares a plaza with a restaurant, and I've literally ordered food, walked nextdoor to register a car I'd bought, then gone back to finish waiting for them to cook food.

Sometimes its that easy. Last I had to do a tag or anything DMV I had to set up an appointment. Our local DMV started to like that part of the COVID operating procedures a bit too much and kept it.
Usually takes 1-2 weeks for an appt

Don't try this at any Pinellas County DMV office...
What's funny is I sort of know the lady that did the tag work from past transactions and even showed her a picture of the car. I figured it was easier than explaining when she asked how many doors and I told her none.
She suggested that we put 4 doors to keep the computer happy.

There actually was a dealer tag on it in the picture. But I can take it off now that the car is in my name.

Yeah, me too. The car did me well, running flawlessly for the autox, drags, and track day, and then driving itself to it's new owner - who has some great plans for it.
6th overall at the challenge ain't shabby either, and a 1:28.0 at the firm with a hamfist like me driving on 560tw Walmart tires is pretty good too.

Also, looking back it seems that the car would have made the road trip just fine. However, the drive down would have been mega-cold, and the drive home mega-wet. So maybe the immobilizer snafu was a good thing afterall.
