Definitely. Ever see someone rolling around in a clapped out example on Chinese 205s? It just looks so wrong, but that looks oh so right!

I run 13" tires on my Miata. It works pretty well for me but the only tires I can get in 225/45R13 are R88Rs. I like that tire though, so I'm happy. My previous Miata (Steve) also had 13" but those were garbage tires and I never really paid attention to them.

The Miata looks rad on 13s. Just wish there were some more options to “future-proof” the decision, if you know what I mean.

So I decided against the giant chonky boi fitment in the end. I needed to make a decision sooner than later and decided that too much weight would wind up being my enemy in the end.

Lightweight + I like 6 spokes = rfp1, right?

I went with 18x8.5 front and 18x10 rear for 245/40 and 275/35 Azeni rt615k+ .

A bit of a compromise in all areas but this isn't a track car or a show car just a fun driver. I'm not about perfection, just making it suit my style a bit more.

Thanks for the input and listening to me ramble, it helps my thought process. Radwood Philly is tomorrow and then afterwards the dated BBS' come off.

Yes, I should have specified but they are for the Z. I also think they will will look decent based on 3 minutes worth of gimp editing...

I have a bit of work to do since I have reversed a few mods to pass inspection (I think we all know that routine) but I promise pics soon enough.

So my E36 has both a set of 17's and a set of 18's, and a set of 15's

The 18's (Style 193 OEM wheels, staggered 225/45R18x8 front, 255/35R18x8.5 rear) look striking and the are perfect fitment but the car feels less lively? Less throwable?

The 17's are MOMO Arrows in 17x8 and had some 215/40 installed and also fit really well fitment wise with good period correct looks the car felt more enjoyable? Like it was light footed, and easier to throw.

My plan is to get a set of 225/45's for the 17's and run those as the the more meaty, daily tire for now.

A friend of ours now runs 15s on his E36 autocrosser, and it looks fantastic.

-1 wheels were the best dollar to improvement thing I have done to my Volvo.

I am not super into visual mods, but the Conti ECSs in 235/45 have the right sidewall look on the 8" wheels.

God, all these cars look so good with the smaller wheels, love it. I never thought I'd like an E36 on 15s but there it is. And the Miata looks amazing on 13s!

Please forgive the poor quality of the hasty snapshot and the pollen covered car... it is a daily driver, after all.

Unfortunately, our favorite online wheel and tire retailer screwed up on the valve stems of all things, so they are not quite ready for a proper photo shoot yet... ugh! Always berkeleying something

Old vs new rears with random 2x8 for scale while swapping pic just for fun... slightly chonky?
