since ive bought my 90 na its been making tranny noises, and recently theyve been getting worse. it will make the noise with the clutch out in neutral, or rolling in every gear except 4th. it goes away when the clutch is in and in 4th gear. its more of clunking, rattling sound. not healthy at all, maybe i can take a video clip. it gets noisier as revs rise. it shifts and move perfectly fine though. one more data point, when i was under the car doing some work, to my great consternation discorvered at least 3-4 bolts missing from the passenger side bell housing where it bolts to the motor. diagnose me! im hoping pilot bearing, but my gut is saying bad input shaft :/

Bad throwout bearing? It would make a lot of noise if it was improperly set and was constantly riding against the pressure plate, not to mention wear out very quickly...

You better pull that trans before you get stranded somewhere. Ask me how i know...

The fact that it's different in 4th makes me think transmission internals - that's the direct gear.
