Sounds like it will be an awesome machine. Honda has been struggling to build cars, so I'm not sure how feasible it will be to get your hands on one, and still be able to retire someday!

Honda V6's are in the 278 hp range. Type R is 306 hp, so it is the most powerful Honda badged car sold in the USA and has been marketed as such. Until July 20.
I'm all about badass FWD cars, but I also think it's humorous that genre cars are now being marketed exactly like superhero movies. First me get a tease of a logo or some minor details, then a full character shot, then a teaser for a teaser, then the actual teaser, then the trailer, then the project gets delayed, so we get nothing for a while, then we hear about revisions, then a revised teaser, then a revised trailer, then insiders start posting spoilers online, then weirdos start making up fake spoilers online, then the product launches but we barely notice because we're already at step 4 for the next big rollout.
Anyway, give it a little more capacity for front camber and I'm totally in.

Did Honda forget about the Honda Jet? Or should I be expecting some serious thrust on this thing?
I am quite excited about this car. I liked the current one, but the boy racer styling kinda killed it for me. Here's to hoping they can pump enough of these things out that there's some availbility without the dealerships dicking around.
Still the biggest thing for me regarding the current Type R: For how fast it is, it's quite comfortable, too.
I really want to like it, but I'm old enough now where a 2.0T Accord sport with a tune looks like a "close enough" alternative....without the $10k markup
I actually just saw one I think, the hatch was open so I couldn't see any wings or anything but the triple exhaust is still a thing.
Wow - imagine trying to buy one.
Can we actually order one without worrying about dealer markup?

They way it's been lately With the type r it will have the same or maybe a tiny bit more horsepower but more weight

More power does not automatically a fun car make.

I think it may actually be more restrained, if what the more normal level Civics are a sign.

And at least from the front, the new normal/Si Civics look pretty darn good out in the wild. Orange ones have twice unexpectedly made me do a double take to see what it was. Especially the sedan. The hatch has a bit too much Panamera humpback to it, as much as I love hatchbacks.

The Civic had been dead to me since Honda killed the hatchback. The liftback just doesn't do it for me.

They've been teasing us with teasers since January 14th. Lots of camo shots and reveals around the world with some videos from Suzuka. Such a long and drawn out process that I lost all interests in this car. Couple that with Honda having an extremely difficult time putting cars on lots and Honda/Acura dealers adding crazy markups. I bet we see the first lot of Type Rs going for $70k at most dealerships.
I really can't wait for the car market to crash.

Current Si is still under 3000lbs, so I would be very surprised if they find a way to add that much weight. They also don't sell an Si hatchback specifically because the Type-R is hatchback only (which I don't really get, but fine, whatever).
Jury's out on the styling though.

The Civic has been dead to me since they removed double wishbones. Also when they turned into Accords.
