The 1960-62 Chrysler, 1960-63 Imperial, and 1966-67 Dodge Charger had electroluminescent lighting for the dashboard gauges.

Funny you should mention that...no one seems willing to do anything about all the pickup trucks running around with headlights at rearview mirror height...and then they put in brighter than God bulbs or add additional illegal lighting ( at least around where I live ) to further annoy people with ridiculous amounts of glare both in rear view mirrors and in oncoming mode. So I don't expect any notice to be taken of goofy light up paint...that will go unnoticed except by the few that think its cool. Ok I'll get off my soapbox now. :)

Looks like BMW may have out-done VW at the CES show.  At least based on the video I just saw.
