Are we there yet? Can I now plug my phone into my car and get the codes/ check the info? What is the best ap/hardware for this?

This is where everyone says Torque, and a BlueTooth adapter. (Only one I know of.)

Yep, that's what I use. Works very well.

I got a $50 refurb 7" tablet with Bluetooth. If you have a way to mount it, it's a lot easier to read than a phone screen, and then your phone isn't tied up.

I have a $5 ebay bluetooth OBD plug-in and link it up with Torque Pro app on my phone. Regular Torque is free, but Pro is like $5 and you get programmable things like torque converter temp and stuff like that. I really only use the setup when I'm towing, so I can keep tabs on the TC and transmission temps.

Just like Jerry said

I bought this Bluetooth ELM327 scanner: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051CAE1C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And this OBD2 extension cable: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007PAHHWM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I did use Torque Pro but I couldn't use a lot of the functions (stupid Chrysler). I also was not impressed with the GUI. I ended up using DashCommand. It does 95% of what Torque does but with a much cleaner interface. DashCommand

I tucked the cable and Blutetooth scanner up into the dash of my Wrangler. With the 90° OBD2 plug, it doesn't hang down into the footwell. I have been using this setup since July of 2014 and have had zero issues. I mainly use it to monitor/datalog intake temps on my Jeep with a snorkle and verify speedometer accuracy.

Note that the Bluetooth OBD2 scanners don't necessarily work on the iPhone. I found this one out the hard way.

I ended up buying a WiFi one (Panlong "PL-WIFI" ELM327) and using OBDCarDoctor to scan codes.

So I ordered a Bluetooth scanner dongle thing on Amazon and downloaded torque for my android phone. Once I figured out how to pair it I was able to get the code that is causing my check engine light. It said o2 sensor low voltage bank 2 sensor 2 I think. What does this mean?

Sorry I just re-read the trouble code and it is bank 2 sensor 2. Which of the oxygen sensors is that?

Bank 2 O2 after the cat. Find out which cyl is #1.. That side is bank 1. So other side.

If you have a weird setup like a Jeep I6 or BMW bank 1 is first 3 cyl, bank 2 is second 3 cyl.

What is the specific code? Lean? Rich? Stuck? Monitor B2S2 voltage while driving. Should read lean(over .600v) pretty constantly, maybe exception under throttle, with little to no switching. If it switches from .1-.9v like B2S1 should, that points to a bad cat.

Edit: low voltage got it. Monitor it, likely internally shorted or open circuit.
