Buzzboy, There are new 17x8 Penta replicas from Taiwan.
In reply to NickD :
Those look like billet versions done by someone who only had a bad picture of the originals.
Ronal has reissued the wheel in both silver and gold, both with a polished lip. I wish the previous owner hadn't powdercoated mine before I bought them. Someday I might try to strip them down and repaint in silver.
Looking at them last night, I have 2 Ronal r9 in 16x7 and 2 ARE 219/Enkei EK83 16x8 with Ronal caps. They are exactly the same on the front but the writing on the backs are wrong and no logo on the spokes. I'm still happy with them.
Keith, I think you started another thread for the ones on your van about the same time. I have an ancient pic of some white with polished lips on my old 528e somewhere and when I could afford old AMG cars I always ran Pentas

That seems crazy that you ended up with two Enkeis with Ronal caps.
Shortly after I started this thread, I bought a set of center caps directly from Ronal, because I had one with a broken tab. They said that it was the last set of new caps in world!
How similar are the Ronals and the Enkeis when you compare them side by side?
I had a set of R9s on my Audi 5000 quattro. Gave them away when I sold the car.
Wish I kept them, or at least taken a picture :(

I'll post pics, but very close
Ok, good news, they are all made to original. Two are original made in w. Germany and two are the later continuation/clone R.E.I versions.
One early R9 has a slight dent. Below are the differences.
original wheels have the name cast into the spoke
and the country of origin in the rear
size with offset
Clone wheels have no logo anywhere on the wheel; rear of spokes are generic
size but no offset
Annnd the REI stamp showing them as continuation wheels
Quality looks very similar, the mold is not quite as crisp but I'm still pretty happy with the purchase. The dent will probably cost about $50 to put it right but small price to pay.
