I have not yet got a chance to watch it but it looks like the Tesla was featured on Top Gear...

Tesla is still in biz. There are bunch of cars in the lot and a bunch driving around town. I live nearby.

The local Tesla dealer has about 5 or 6 roadsters in the showroom. They were open yesterday when I drove by.

wow, the bay area is here in force

I have seen the Tesla plenty on 85 but I have never been by the showroom. Where is it located? (I work in Sunnyvale)

I am also going to hijack my own thread... amg_rx7 and Type Q... do either one of you guys frequent the any of the local autoX clubs?

If you do and you see a guy in a red, slow, poorly driven mazdaspeed6, its probably me. Hit me up some time.

The Tesla dealership is on El Camino on the Palo Alto/Menlo Park border about a block and a half north of Stanford Mall. They converted an old Chevy dealership.

The answer is yes I am a regular at the SCCA autocrosses. If you have gone on one of the novice walks in the last two years, you most likely met me. I have about 98% of them since 2006.

Anyone drive by the HQ in San Carlos? Those are cool little cars, but too damned expensive. Perfect place for a dealer is in palo alto for the eco conscious smug dorks.

The only issue with the tesla is they are silent so I'd be afraid of one of them thing running me over in the parking lot. At least you'd land in the passanger seat.

I'm new to the area and haven't made any autocrosses yet. I've done events by Hookedondriving and NASA at Thunderhill and Infineon and ovserved 2 SCCA weekends.

Shoot me an email next time you go and we'll complement that Mazdaspeed6 w/ a poorly autocrossed RX7 - 7racer @ gmail.

Cheers. :)

I've lived on the peninsula for almost 15 years. I'd go for the smaller club's autocrosses. I tried a couple of SCCA autocrosses and was discouraged by getting two minutes of driving for a day.

woot unskilled Mazda drivers unite !!!

I can see being discouraged by the SCCA. especially if its your first introduction to autocross. I was lucky enough to get involved via a small sports car club that exists for employees of the company I work for.

I would recommend checking out some of the smaller clubs first. They typically give you more seat time and they are typically a little bit cheaper than the SCCA.

I love dragging people out to Autocross events, I like introducing them via the 510 owners association club (doesnt actually have many 510s in attendance)

Some day I am going to check out the American Autocross series or the lotus club
