A couple of weeks ago my oldest nephew and his cousin ran in the local demo derby compact class here in Wisconsin. I went out to photograph the event. Brandon did ok before losing a half shaft in his Cav. Dillon lost both half shafts very quickly in his Saturn. Both are fixing the cars to run them again this coming Monday in a different demo derby. Here is a few shots of the guys and a link to the folder.

How did the Saturn's plastic body parts hold up?

I was wondering the same thing, just a heat gun and everything is back to it's original shape?

I used to be a big fan of demo derbies in my area, then didn't go for a few decades. Watching them again recently I was dismayed at the number of modifications you are now allowed to make. In the old days it was just about smashing up cars. Now I guess it's about winning money.

I find the Beech Ridge destruction videos far more entertaining these days.  Sample:

The Saturn was taken out because a couple of CV axles broke along with the CAV. It went to a new derby this past weekend and the driver was sick and the new driver was told to send it. He did. The trans was leaking and they patched it. The car drove forward and broke a steering knuckle and CV axle I think. The Cav was a Cv Alex kelt popping out and would not run very long after a couple of hits.
