When it’s a Japanese-spec, sorta-upmarket Honda Domani Vi.

This one just turned up for sale stateside, and someone should buy it so we stop thinking about it.

And I realize glass/body panels would be a bit of a challenge, but that interior looks like home. (Yes, I miss my EG hatch.)

Was this car sold in Canada as an Acura?  I seem to recall there being an upmarket Civic (not an Integra) sold through Acura in the Great White North.

I think you mean the Acura EL.

In reply to CrustyRedXpress :

The Acura EL became the second-generation Domani so, yes, there's a connection.

You guys didn't get the Acura el in the USA? They were a dime a dozen up here in the great white north.

The EL was just a slightly different mix of normal Civic parts, wasn't it? Like a four door Si or something, not really anything too exotic.

In canada, we onky had ek based acura el. (And the 1.7 thing)

Basicly a 96-2000 4 door civic si (1.6 sohc vtec) with jdm cluster and radio area and front and rear jdm domani bumpers and lights.

We saw them everywhere in the time.

Isn't the MG ZS 180 related to the Domani? (Except the motor)

The engine shot, also, totally looks like home.

Yes, with a few mods - back from when Triumph and then Rover built cars based on various Honda models in the UK.

The UK also got a Civic VTI, which I believe is pretty much the same car as the Domani. They were considered a bit of a sleeper as they pretty much looked like a pensioner-spec Civic. The ultimate sleeper in this Rover/Honda mashup was probably the 220s with the Rover Turbo engine, though.
