I recently saw a picture of a "Norley" (Norton featherbed with a Harley engine) which I thought was very attractive. I thought about my spare GS1000 Suzuki rolling chassis. Has anyone got the ability to get me some rough dimensions on a 1200 Sportster engine (height/width/length)?
I do not speak Harley model designations. Is it on this list?

Sorry, my bad, you are looking for the numbers for just the engine.
It's about 24" across the top of the "V"
It's about 24" frame to top of "V"
It's about 15" wide from derby cover to case that covers final drive.
Those are rough tapemeasure to eyeball numbers.
That is for an "Evo" XL 883/1200; the motor in the photo is an "Ironhead" which predated the Evo.
If that title isn't the straight line to a very naughty joke, I don't now what is.
