Wasn't it Europe for several years before coming stateside as the Soltice/Sky?

No... The Skystice was a Pontiac first. Maybe you're thinking of the Saturn Astra?

The Solstice came out in '06, the Opel GT was introduced in Europe in '07 and the Saturn Sky was introduced in 2007 as well. All were the same car.

Might have been thinking of the Vauxhall VX220 aka Opel Speedster. It had a styling resemblance to the Saturn Sky and the Opel GT.

I haven't seen one in months, maybe years and on the way to work this morning...

Still really good looking cars, just...

It's a shame the Sky coupe came out just in time for the brand to expire. It was a cool looking car.

There was only a Sol coupe, never a Sky. Maybe a proto existed.

Darren Mcnamara, an Irish drifter competing in Formula Drift, built a phantom Saturn Sky coupe with a supercharged LS motor.

I made it up because I wanted to exist, I guess. I never appreciated the Bugs Bunny nose on the Solstice, I always felt the Opel/Saturn nose was far more successful.

In reply to Keith Tanner :

I did too. It's grown on me though. Sky RLs were a bit harder to find at the time though.

The seller has gone silent, so not an issue any longer.  Thanks for the info!

It was also sold as a Vauxhall too IIRC.

EDIT: I see now that it was already mentioned...

In reply to preach (dudeist priest) :

An Opel Speedser/Vauxhall VX220 Turbo is on my short list when they're import eligible. Ex-Elise and current GXP Solstice owner, so smooshing that drivetrain into something 1000 lbs lighter and mid engine sounds like a win win to me.
