The PT doesn't look like a '41 Plymouth at all.

Kind of weird, actually. Photobucket

FWD S13?

And I kind of like the new Jetta. I never cared for the faux Auto Union grilles on the Mk5 cars..

BTW: PHeller, I like the Mk1 Scirrocos, but not the Mk2 cars. I still think the Mk1 was the direct inspiration for the Corrado's look.

Some guy near me has 2 scirrocos in his garage he is restoring. They are neat little cars that you don't see very often. It looks like the guy is doing a nut and bolt on them or something pretty serious, I see fresh paint. I'd like to talk to the guy but wouldn't know what to say. The guy also has a second generation M5.

VW does know how to do names, beats mercedes/bmw numerical derivations.

Smooth it out a bit, it looks like Neon.

From the A-pillar back it looks like a 240 SX

See, no matter how hard you try, you can't make a nice looking car look unique. Otherwise it just ends up look like crap.

In the case of the Chinese Jeep, it is actually all the Cherokee tooling moved over there. It is nearly identical to what whas made here until 2001.

Not copycatting per se but....

Am I the only one that thinks Corvettes have borrowed a lot of styling cues from RX-7s (and 8)?

I'm thinking '79 SA - 85 FB RX-7 compared to C4 Vette, FD RX-7 compared to C5 Vette, and RX-8 compared to C6 Vette.
