Besides Charlie, he also responds to Charles, Chuck, Chucky, and Chas. He's a classy dude, so I think he prefers Chas.

This begins tomorrow, Sept. 30. It's a great event. We did it in 2019, the inaugural year, and I met and kibitzed with some great car people then (Ken Lingenfelter and Stewart Reed to name a couple). So, even though we're Rhode Islanders, and live only 40 miles from Newport, Annie and I will stay at the Marriott in Newport for the duration. We're doing a number of the superb events leading up to the big Concours d' Elegance on Sunday. So I will post pics as we participate in these events. (Sorry, stock image below. But all pics to follow will be my own).
This is me a couple years ago with Stewart Reed next to a beautiful classic Maserati A6GCS at the 2019 event. (Stewart is head of Transportation Design at the ACCD in Pasadena, CA. Car design is my passion, and his, and we both participated in the Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild model car competition when we were kids in the sixties, so we had much to discuss). Great pics. I Love Rhode Island. Especially cedar shingles. We rented a house in Shelter Harbor (off season) and then bought in Pawcatuck, CT about twenty years ago. Beautiful place - just too cold for my bride so that adventure ended after the second winter.

"The Gathering" at Rough Point, Newport, RI. This is an event associated with Audrain Newport Concours and Motor Week.
I offered $10K and both 'nads, but the owner wanted three 'nads. I'm looking for doners:
Bellevue Ave. in Newport was closed from 11:00-2:00 for public viewing of the cars that'll be in the Concours tomorrow.

And of course, the obligatory Jay Leno pic. Actually Jay asked to have his picture taken with Annie. Well, that's her story and she's sticking with it. 
Annie took this pic of me discussing the build of this perfectly reproduced 1952 Cunningham C-4RK LeMans racer on a continuation chassis with master craftsman Don Bresslauer. Don had a ton of images documenting the build, including non-contact scanning of the original, creating the body buck from the results, hammering panels, machining, fabricating, etc. Chuck Schoendorf is the owner. Don was the builder. This car was on display, but not really in contention for any Concours honors. The original car never leaves the REVS Institute in Naples, FL. This reproduction on a continuation chassis brings it out to the public. Don drove it on the Concours Tour around Newport and Jamestown yesterday. Fabulous car. And yeah, it's got a Hemi.
