Weird but my ready come back is "I wasn't looking at you I was looking at him."

Ask something really specific to the car to show you're a dork and not a perv.
I started a chat with a car dealer and they asked me my name.
"Wink Dinkerson"
Then they replied and mentioned my name.......Wink.
I've been watching Matt's offroad recovery on YouTube.
It's made me want to build a rig. Kinda like how the K30 started but the K30 is too big.
Lil Stampie wants a JDM kei car.
Last night after a couple of whiskeys I decided that this would look great with front and rear straight axles.
My neighbors are having their driveway ripped up and repaved today.
My wife said, "I wonder if they're going to make it bigger..."
I said, "If it were me, I'd pave the whole yard."
I just spent 45 minutes putting together an email to the local news station because in their article about some new speedbumps they were saying that the 72" bumps would be too wide for the wheelbase of most cars but that emergency vehicles would be able to go over them.
First of all, you mean track, not wheelbase.
And secondly, even a large Freightliner chassis that they'd use for building an ambulance would only have a rear track of 74 inches. And that measurement is to the center of each of the dual wheels in the back. With 14ish inches per tire, that means the space between the two rear inner tires should only be 60-some-odd inches. Wider than a Camry by a couple inches, sure, but it sure as hell is going to smack into a 72" speedbump.
So either the city is wrong about the width of the speedbump or they just berkeleyed up.
I'm confused. Most speed bumps go from one side of the street all the way to the other. Track is meaningless when both tires can't help but contact a lump of asphalt that's at a minimum 144" wide. Unless were talking about a table top style bump, in which case wheelbase can be an issue of high-centering.
What am I not seeing?
In reply to Appleseed :
Their claim is that the "speed cushion" does not cover the entire lane and should be narrow enough that emergency vehicles would clear it on either side.
New hobby - watching stanced cars get stuck on "speed cushions"
Seriously, though, it looks like wide-track vehicles will get affected, but less than narrower ones, based on the picture above, as they'll hit the outer part that isn't too tall.
Changing lanes right when you hit one of those has got to be fun.

I usually just wink and nod my head. 50% chance of screaming.
The wife and I are going through a rough time right now. We are both complicit but after almost 30 years of marriage I would not have thougt we would be here.
In reply to Aaron_King :
Yep. You'd figure at this point as long as you're both decent human beings, there isn't all that much to get that angry about.
It's better than it was 10-15 years ago, but it's still not smooth sailing.

Never seen one of those before. The picture explains it all.
The thing with speed bumps is that they are smoother the faster you go. I was a little kid riding with the newspaper rep in my paper district, which was a condo/rowhouse development, and he was blasting over the tall speed bumps at like 50 in his Malibu and you only felt the car go thump-thump, didn't jar the chassis much.
Since the start of this pandemic the people on this board have replaced the casual interaction with coworkers that I used to have in the office.

Aaaaand this was prophetic. Dammit.
I was just given a rather rough 99 accord. It runs and drives, but no ac, drivers window doesn't work, interior is bad, and engine light is on. I do t have anywhere to put it without asking someone else. I don't know what to do with it. I'd fee slightly guilty just selling it but not sure why.
Maybe I get some pictures and offer it up as challenge fodder if anyone is looking for a wild road trip.
I have completely forgotten all emacs commands, and all unix commands except for the very most basic.

I think a lot of long time ones get to that point, it's if you can work through it that matters (obviously). One of the best suggestions I got from a friend was when she was upset to straight out ask "Do you want me to offer ideas, bitch about it with you, or just listen?" It really changed the conversation from an argument to "we are in it together"
