Although driving is less money and not that much more time. Flying is less energy. They've also offered to help pay for airfare.
5 hours all-in vs 8 hours is not insignificant. It changes this from a 4 day trip to probably 2. If they throw me the money they'd spend on hotel and food to put me up those extra 2 nights, that puts my total expense pretty comparable to what driving would be, and is 1 less day I need to take off work.
Weighing the options.
Edit:
No matter what, I'm making the right decision. It's just a fact of what the most-right decision is. I'm excited.
Only part that bums me out, is the wife won't be able to take time off to join for the trip to check the area out. She completely trusts my judgement. She will be on board if I report back good things on the area. She will be less stressed over the prospect of moving to an area if she's able to come out herself. Relieving her moving stress is worth $$$.

If this is to the north side of Philly can you fly in to Trenton?
Lifetime milestone achievement-- We actually got to the bottom of a bottle of Worcestershire sauce this evening.
Guesses for how long we were past the "Best By" date?

I think we've had 5 bottles of Worcestershire sauce as a couple since we moved in together in 1986.

Man......I don't think a bottle lasts more than a month here. That, black pepper and paprika never last long here
Sizzle burgers are awesome as well.
I have a couple recipes that use 2 Tbsp each. We go through a couple bottles per year.
You know that stage that a lot of guys go thru in their teens and 20s where they have loud exhausts and cherry bomb everything? I never did that, I played music instead and barely did anything really car related besides maintenance.
This weekend I had to cut off the muffler of the work truck because it was rattling like something had fallen apart inside and throttle response was horrid suddenly. Doing some measurements I found that a 3 inch glass pack would fit over the existing tailpipe snugly so I bought an m80 Cherry Bomb, tapped it on and threw a clamp on it.
The 305 sounds glorious now and makes me smile when I hit the gas. Throttle response is better than ever too.
Plus side too is it literally helped me save someone's life today. I went around a blind corner and there was someone starting to walk in front of me without looking my way at all. I was on the throttle coming out of the turn and it's pretty raucous sounding now. She jumped back by instinct and I missed her. She was literally less than 20 feet ahead of me and there was no way I could have stopped in time.

I'm pretty sure any other bottle we had got tossed in a move before we used it up.

Whichever you are more comfortable with, you want to make sure you are fresh for the interview and observing their process. I fly a lot and I usually judge the value of flying versus driving by hours spent total (door to door) and likelihood of it getting messed up. So if there is a connecting flight and busy airport that makes me lean towards driving, if I can go direct and the flights are at good times then flying is more attractive.
I've spent some time in that part of NJ and it is much more pleasant than the rep that Jersey gets most of the time.

Pretty much strait east from the center of Philly. About equidistant from PHL, Atlantic City, or Trenton. The advantage of PHL would be direct flight from the Columbus airport.
However... new events change my likelihood towards driving...
Could be a minor rant, but I think this qualifies as more of a win:
Turns out that Indeed will send out notifications that a potential employer has turned you down when they're actually still interested in you.
I thought that had happened with the distillery in NJ. Turns out it also happened with the brewery I was interested in in Baltimore. Got an interview with them scheduled for Saturday. I anticipate that going well.
My oldest son graduated Air Force basic last Thursday. My dad, both of my other kids and I drove down San Antonio from Ohio, my wife flew because she only gets 3 vacation days a year ( she works at an Elementary school). It has been a while since I got to spend much time with my dad, it was great to just hang out and talk. On the way home we took a detour through Vicksburg to tour the battlefield. It's one of the last major ones he and had not been to. All in all it was an awesome week, very proud of my son, he has grown up a lot in the last 7.5 weeks and with my father being 75 any time we get is special.

Awesome! It's amazing how much military training changes them. My nephew went into boot camp a little kid and came out a man. It was the longest 12 weeks ever.
You know all those 15 or 20 minute jobs you put off because it's just annoying not incredibly necessary? I've spent the last two mornings while I've been unemployed working on them. My house locks for the first time in a decade, the hole in the Attic floor where I fell through is fixed along with the ceiling around the attic floor door, P traps are cleaned in the sinks. I've got a set of shelves to hang for my daughter's Funko Pop collection, but I'm going to wait for her to get home from school and make her help me. Feels good to finally be getting E36 M3 done and out of my head.

Ah. 8 years, 7 months. Nice.
I was way off. You'd get along well with my in-laws.

Trimming down the collection?
In reply to eastsideTim :
Yup. Trimming down ALL the collections. Im at the point where the stuff i own owns me.
This story was passed on to me from my wife today. Apparently this happened last year before I traded the i8--
One of the boys in the neighborhood, no more than about 6, fancies cars. While driving past the house, he sees the i8 in the garage and remarks to his mother, "Wow, is that a Bugatti?"
She replies, "No, I'm pretty sure that's a BMW."
His response was, "He must work at the A&W to afford something like that!"

I am right there with you friend. I am selling and scrapping stuff left and right to get this mess under control. Also completing little projects like you mentioned earlier, getting things off my list and out of my brain feels amazing. I dream of some day having an empty white room with space for projects I don't have.

Reminds of of when I was a part of the local mini club. We had British flag mirror caps. We used to do parades. Multiple times I heard "look mommy, that one's from Canada!".
Brewery in Baltimore also wants to meet me in person. I am now planning a trip to hit multiple locations for what I hope to be final decision time.
Oh yeah... and I have another interview scheduled for this coming week for a position in Richmond with a larger VA brewery (Starr Hill), which could potentially make the trip a three-fer.
Everything's coming up Milhouse!
So, earlier this summer i gave a couple of middle school kids an opportunity to make 10 an hour working for me.
At first, they did ok. Neither had a whole lot of experience, or was taught much by their uninvolved dads.
Mid summer, one got on the football team, other wound up taking care of younger siblings for the summer. However they came on random weekends and i found stuff for them to do. They learned quickly, and were earning their $10hr. Today, i decided im underpaying them. These two young men are machines and worked my ass into the dirt keeping up with them
