The 4th- is actually also not from Walmart, as it is from Fleet Farm (Farm and Fleet to some of you other midwesterners). I almost gifted it with the Star Specs off of my ms3... but then realized Ford liked to use silly bolt patterns and not play nice.

5x108. Find some Volvo or Taurus SHO takeoffs. I really wanted to put a set of Volvo Pegasus R 18s on my '92 SHO when I had it.

Most SHOs are in the junkyard now anyway. Finding a set of the alloys should be cheeeeeeap. I paid $200 for the set of stockers that I had on mine, and they came with nearly new tires.

What would be more grassroots than a Taurus that handles?

I had torn the shock towers in my 1970 Mustang through a combination of age and abuse and needed to take it off the road for a few weeks to tear it apart and weld in some actual metal in load bearing areas. I picked up a 1974 or so thunderbird with a 351M dirt cheap (needed main bearings and a rear main seal) to drive while my mustang was in pieces.

On the way home I took the exit at my normal speed and ended up first running through the ditch on the left side and then through the right as I over corrected.

I dont have that issue, except when the cars are very similar. I had a hairy moment in my wifes Miata when she first bought it, as an animal ran out in front of me and I reacted like I was driving my Miata, which is lower and stiffer and stickier and all that. Hers is stock. Im ok when driving the Jeep or Escort, as they are different enough not to fool me as what car Im in.

you just need to tape some signs on the steering wheels one saying "Slow!" and another saying "Fast :-)"

Ya know, I'm REALLY glad I'm not the only one that's done this before.... this makes me happy that everyone understands.

As far as the new wheels- Yeah I noticed the volvo/SHO takeoffs around. Strangely, this Taurus actually has some sort of factory Taurus alloy wheel on it. As far as making it handle... assuming I get around to replacing the leaking valve cover gasket, I am SERIOUSLY consider attempting to autocross it. Espeically because why would anyone race the logically superior car, when you can race the most dirtbag thing you got? I'd laugh my a$$ off every time I pulled up to the line in it, considering what would be sitting at home.
