I have Direct TV  (AT&T) satellite now.    No real problem except thunder storm blackout.

Today a nice lady came to my door in effort to sell me Spectrum cable TV, internet and phone for a lot less than I am  paying now.   My TV is separate from my phone/internet.

Opinions/discussion.

I love mine but I carry a package with both internet and cable and every couple of years have to call to get on the next deal they offer. Nothing wrong with The service for me, my router/modem combo is rented through them and They have replaced it twice free of charge but it's a bit annoying to go a few days without internet whenever it happens

See if one if the fiber optics setups is available in your area.  Bell has Fioptics.  There are a few others.  My general deal is to bounce service to service after their one year no contract price lock.  You only need to be gone 6 months to be a new customer and open to the super low price intro deal.

I have it. I do not want it- but my apartment complex forced the deal as part of a technology package. Customer service has actually been really good- which is the last thing I would ever say about a service provider. Service itself seems pretty reliable, other than a couple internet hiccups with initial install, it's been flawless.

I despise Spectrum, mostly because I'm paying $75/month for the lowest internet service they will sell me, and there's no alternative.  Plus, it seems that Spectrum won't offer any deals/promos once you're off the first year deal.  The profit margin on cable internet is incredibly high because there's no competition and the city I live in does not/cannot reign in the monopoly.  Argh.

Their internet has been great, but I pretty much hate the cable service. Every couple of months the price goes up bya  few bucks. After a while - it really adds up. I'm at ~$180mo for tv and internet. You used to be able to call them, threaten to cancel, and get a better deal - but that hasn't worked the last few times I tried. I haven't watched TV in years, but need to come up with a creative solution to keep my girlfriend happy.

I may end up keeping the internet and doing youtube TV or some other alternative.

I've had it since they bought Time Warner's internet. Had Time Warner for 20 years. No issues. Rarely any outages. Price has climbed but the only other options are much slower bandwidth, so I stay. Google Fiber in Austin missed me by about 3 miles.

I had it.  Not nearly as good as Frontier (which used to be Verizon) for features. As noted they will NOT negotiate price once the promo price shoots up.  When my promo with Frontier is up I will do my best to negotiate to not go back to Spectrum.

One big thing I dislike about them in Los Angeles is that they paid BIG money (as Time Warner) for exclusive rights to the Dodgers, so they can say what they want but customers are certainly paying for that whether they have any interest in baseball or not.

If it’s your only choice for cable, in general, not a bad service, and you can cancel it at any time, which is nice.

This is a very controversial issue. The beauty of satellite TV is that it is universal and depends almost exclusively on you. And there, in the event of a shutdown or some other problems, they will solve the problem and can do this for a very long time. Choose you.

Looking to get away from them as soon as possible, mainly because of price. They've steadily increased price on everything (cable, internet, phone) because they were well aware there weren't any options in my neighborhood.  AT & T dropped high speed lines recently, so I need to get my individual line run to the house.   At that point, if they get me back close to their "introductory rates", I'll stay.  If they don't, I'm out.

Price is the biggest, but not the only issue.  We've had some issues with their streaming/on demand service.  It acts up periodically and they always say its a "subcontractor's issue" and refer me to people who either don't call back or say they've fixed the problem, only to have it re-occur.  I just use others sources (Prime) for that stuff now.

Drop the cable and just keep your internet sometime and it drops back down when they start begging you to come back. I have cable and internet. 99 bucks a month

I am on Spectrum Internet here.  Its good but spendy.  Tried AT&T Fiber and it was a slow, laggy mess full of service interruptions.  Talking to a few of my smarter friends, Spectrum costs more because it is worth it.

We do all our TV via OTA, Netflix, Amazon, and newsgroups.

Well I signed up for the package.   $129.45  first year.

I have been paying $ 95.82 to AT&T for TV and $ 124.74 To Frontier for phone and internet.

So I am saving $ 91.11.

 That will buy a tire.

 thanks for all your reply's

If your house already had cable ran it really is that simple. My wife did ours while I was at work. It's just plugging the boxes in and following the step by step directions
