I have been choosing them.

Such as this product of professionalism done by another contractor.

Pads still had 8mm.  They sounded grumblier than drilled rotors normally do.

Why Mercedes was chunderheaded enough to put drilled rotors on AWD E-classes is anyone's guess.

Ford power transfer unit...

Toyota 2GR-FE timing guide pieces, as removed from the oil pan.

Engine made "a loud metallic groaning noise" then stalled on the highway. Cannot rotate with a breaker bar.

*feels smug about preferring timing belts*

See, it does snow around here on occasion. This was 2018 and I think it was the last time it snowed down here.

Amazing, that is most of an RX-7 crammed into a... Spitfire?

I see the radiator and overflow, clutch and brake master cylinders, ignition coils and bracket, and that front stabilizer bar's curve looks awfully familiar, too...

This could also go in the minor rant thread, but this is a Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost timing belt with 69,000km.  It's also inside the oiley part of the engine. It's a 12 hour job.  It requires $1200 worth of special tools to time it and torque the crank bolt.  The crank bolts initial torque is 40 foot pounds, then 200, the one full turn of the bolt, because German Ford engineers are even stupider than regular Ford or German engineers.  The vacuum pump is driven off the exhaust cam, and they seize up sometimes.  The teeth from the timing belt are in the oil pan, so the downpipe has to come off to get the oil pan off the clean the teeth out before they block the oil pickup.

Did I mention it's supposed to be a lifetime belt, that failed at 69,000 km?

But, I just swiped a Visa card for $2800cdn, so now that I'm equipped, I sure hope somebody else is dumb enough to want one fixed.

Pretty much. What isn't RX7 is Miata. Uprights, brakes and such.

This is the Abomination. As built by Curmudgeon for the 06 Challenge.

I've made a few changes over the years. Mostly removing weight. When that picture was taken, I had just gotten rid of the huge lead acid battery behind the seat and put a small AGM back up front because I had pulled too much weight off the front of the car.

As it sits now though it's covered with dust from sitting for several years.

The kids playing with it.

One of my weight loss goals is to fit in it again.

If it's any consolation, any 1.0 Ecoboost I have seen with roughly double that mileage was heaving oil from the head gasket.  So, you may yet get to use those special service tools!

One of these days, I'm going to go in the rant zone, and tell the tale of the tools...  Lets just say I ended up making my own.
