Not only can you paint cars with an HVLP gun; you can paint clothes onto people.

This video isn't pornographic --it's all over the news and has gone viral in the fashion world, apparently -- but it is NSFW so I'm not embedding it.

Dress sprayed onto model, with HVLP guns

dang.  I came in here expecting a flame thrower or tequila mister or a cooking appliance or something.

This is still just painting, although it is pretty cool.

They have a few different reality type game shows on Netflix about this. If you like this check out "Skin wars."

Isn't that how the bad guy killed the girl in the old James Bond movie "Goldfinger"?

I saw something similar a few years ago, except it looked more like cotton silly string and they made a shirt.

In reply to SV reX :

Also how they almost killed the original Tin Man in Wizard of Oz.

Makes me feel sorry for all those poor saps that have to spray paint onto cars.

I rented a room to a good friend the past 10 years. He worked in production paint shops and collision shops for about 40 years. He said you'll rarely see retired painters and body technicians because the industry kills them. He died a few months ago loaded with cancer at 58.

I guess fashion, like entertainment, gets some kind of pass from OSHA-type regs.

I can see the home version of this going very, very badly.

Knowing a little bit about how the financial structures work in those industries, it's very possible their are no employees present in that video (and therefore no OSHA regs).

It's likely that each of them is an independent contractor (self employed).

Doesn't change that you are right, of course, that best practices should be adhered to (especially doing a demo). But OSHA may have no jurisdiction.
