I am having trouble picking what kind of door card I want to make for my 64 VW. I was set on a skull and crossbones but I am beginning to think that may be a bit too hipster-douchebaggy. I thought a raven on a wire would look good but I have seen a sacred heart graphic on a lowrider door card and it looked great. Anyone have any suggestions

You should do your door panels with a picture of me wearing scantily-clad not much, doing what should never be upholstered into a door panel.

To whom should I send the pictures?

I remember a Bug in my dorm parking lot that had a Mickey Mouse interior. I never met the owner, though. Personally, I'd go with a plaid.

If you want some real advice on your interior decoratin', pics of the car in question would help.

You wouldn't happen to have a family tartan would you? Turns out, I have one, because I was asked a similar question when I talked about plaid and the interior of an unsuspecting ms3.

Houndstooth? I'd seriously consider finding a period correct material. All you do if you customize a car is reduce it's value. Everyone tries to get creative, what really will turn heads is a stock looking interior. And if you ever decide to sell it someone wont have to reupholster it.

This car is not really restorable. The engine and tranny are respectively out of earlier and later cars. Also the gas tank, wiring, fuse block, and seats were changed. Additionally I had to weld the dash to cover the terrible hack job that a previous owner did in creating a DIN hole for a stereo.

I do have stock style door cards but one of my side hobbies is making new door cards as the mood strikes me.

I am liking the idea of a Wolfsburg crest.

there is a lot to be said for a classy alteration. Something, I am afraid, the current generation of Vdubbers seeems to have forgotten.

That said.. incorporating the wolfsburg crest or the VW emblem would score you points with me

.....care to share examples of your work? I have a car or two that might benefit from some decent work!
