I like "fringe" vehicles and an Aspen is certainly that. A vehicle that no one goes looking for because no one knows it even exists.
The Durango is to Aspen as the Tahoe is to Escalade. More chrome, all the leather and always the big engine. Only offered for 2 years (07-09.)
Might be able to pull off an LT1 B-body in your price range.
Gmt800 suburban/Tahoe. Cheap parts and 300-400k longevity.
I'm on three years with mine. It has 208k miles. Sure it'll have minor issues over a sequoia but it'll be easier and cheaper to fix.
I can't stand Tahoe/sequoias as they are too small for my family, esp when camping. Just brought a fridge to the dump in. My suburban inside without a trailer. The untility can't be matched.
