What does it take to bring about a whole new class of race cars to IMSA? A lot more than just showing up for a race weekend and hoping to win.

Today, IMSA is launching “Win the Weekend,” an eight-part docuseries that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the all-new Grand Touring Prototype class–from what it took to launch the new race machines, to the ups and downs the teams, cars and drivers will face throughout the season.

Produced by “automotive creative agency” Tangent Vector with the support of Michelin, the first episode gives us an exclusive inside perspective of how teams managed to get their GTP machines ready for their debut at the upcoming Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Episode 2, set to go live on February 13, will focus on the outcome of the GTP’s debut at Daytona.

As far as the whole series, IMSA promises more than just garage chatter and interviews with drivers:

‘Win the Weekend’ also relies on a roundtable of racing experts to provide commentary and insights, and to ask the provocative questions necessary to help tell the story. Viewers will come away from each episode further enlightened on how this high-tech machinery operates and will be drawn into the emotional battle to see who drives away with the 2023 GTP championship.”

They could have heightened the drama with the behind the scenes issues of the hybrid system's reliability, but Bosch and Williams probably wouldn't like that.
