Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. Chevrolet today announced production of the sixth-generation Camaro–but not the Camaro itself–will end with the 2024 model year.

Before the last sixth-gen models roll off the assembly line, however, Chevrolet will offer customers a “Collector’s Edition” package for select Camaro models:

Chevrolet will celebrate this storied nameplate with the addition of the Collector’s Edition package on the 2024 Camaro RS and SS, and on a limited number of ZL1 equipped vehicles available in North America. The Collector’s Edition pays homage to Camaro, resurfacing ties that date back to the development of the first generation Camaro in the 1960s, most notably the program’s initial code name: Panther.

Besides that, Chevrolet is tight-lipped about the contents of the Collector’s Edition package. They said more information will be made available closer to when orders start later this summer.

If this is the end of the sixth-gen Camaro, then what about a seventh-gen model? Scott Bell, Global Chevrolet vice president, had this to say: “While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”
