IMSA just unveiled a new, revised schedule. The first event of their restarted schedule will take place at Daytona International Speedway July 3-4 as part of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The event will be televised only—courtesy of NBCSN—as spectators will not be admitted.

IMSA’s Michelin Pilot Challenge will return to the track July 17-18 at Sebring International Raceway, and will also be an NBCSN televised-only event.

The revised schedules are below, as well as the full press release:

In a series of video conferences with stakeholders earlier today, IMSA revealed its plans to return to racing this summer with a revised 2020 calendar for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

The WeatherTech Championship will return July 4 at Daytona International Speedway. This Fourth of July event will feature an evening race with WeatherTech as its entitlement partner and a live television broadcast on NBCSN.

The Michelin Pilot Challenge will resume alongside the WeatherTech Championship at Sebring International Raceway on July 17-18. The WeatherTech Championship event also will be televised live on NBCSN.

Both event weekends will be conducted without fans in attendance.

"IMSA is grateful to all of our promoter partners for collaborating with us to develop a revised schedule of outstanding events," said IMSA President John Doonan. "Our No. 1 priority since March has been to get back to racing as safely and as quickly as possible, and this revised schedule is evidence of that. We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and input of our IMSA stakeholders, and we all are very much looking forward to going racing again this summer and putting on amazing races for our audience."

Further NBC Sports television broadcast information and any additional details will be announced soon.

It's cool that IMSA will be a support series to the Champcar race on July 4th weekend.

I was actually hoping to get to VIR this year, I guess that's not happening.

I see the People's Democratic Republic of Austin didn't make the list.  Sad, because I've been wanting to take kiddo to see racing there.

And anyone not gettingbthe reference there is little known big name actor movie about TX that is funny.  TX really is like 5 different states in one.  The way Jack Black and M. McConaughey play it is hilarious.

The first time I saw it and the description of Austin came up, I think I sprayed beverage.

In November yes. In July, hard pass.

And that's not covid related, that's 96 degrees, 92% humidity with no shade related.
