What's better than buying a track car that was built from new as a race car? How about buying a former race car that competed in a professional racing series?

Last Place Motorsports recently picked up a Mazda Protegé5 wagon for track duty. This wagon’s provenance? During the 2003 and 2004 seasons, it ran with the Grand-Am Cup, the predecessor to today’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. It’s been a race car since new, with turbocharged power coming from the Mazdaspeed Protegé.
