Did the VW crowd love our Porsche?

Is a Porsche welcome at a VW show? Perhaps?

A few days before this past weekend’s No Dough car show, we got the official word: Our Porsche 911 Carrera was welcome to join the activities. (A Porsche is kind of like a VW, right?)

The night before the show, though, we debated on whether we should actually show the car. Was it really appropriate? Would the masses approve? Did we want to make the commitment?

Even though we hadn’t answered our own questions, we still drove the Porsche to the show as it was just good classic car weather.

As we approached the event site–simply looking for a place to park–our questions were answered by the person at the gate: Without hesitation, he waived us in.

We still had our BMX bike in the car from our visit to Radwood at The Amelia, so we quickly perched it atop the car and watched people take in the setup.

Still can’t believe that we got waived in like that.

As we approached the show–and this was after going back and forth on whether even to show the Porsche–my wife goes, That guy’s waiving at us.

I figured it was someone waiving hello.

Then I saw the dude: He was waiving, Come this way.

So we did.

And our friend in another 911 followed.

"It’s one of those Beetle Sports."

Seriously, good show, fun day. Lots of variety (Porsches, even) in a cool, shady venue. It was fun to be part of it.
