Update by David S. Wallens to the Nissan 240SX project car
Jun 8, 2013

Back in the day, what to do with a Nissan 240SX was a little nebulous. They didn’t have a stellar competition record, and while one did win an SCCA Street Touring national title they definitely haven’t been an overdog in that scene. For the most part, they were consigned to street use—where they did a darn fine job.

Lately, the 240SX has found a new home: drifting. With AE86 supplies drying up, the 240SX has picked up a new legion of fans. Sadly, that has also taken its toll on supplies. On the plus side, it has ushered in some amazing engine swaps and radical modifications.

So, we ask, what do we do with our 1991 Nissan 240SX? Track car? Keep it stock? Time attack? Drift? V8 swap? Dual-purpose street/track? Chump or LeMons?

Our friends at Ground Control sent us some thoughts on the subject, while truth be told we have been eyeing something spotted in their catalog.

We have been writing about Nissans since they were known as Datsuns. Subscribe to Grassroots Motorsports now.
