Our Factory Five 818 kit isn’t even finished yet, but we already know one thing will need to be changed: its wheels.
Until we get our 818 home from Very Cool Parts, it will be riding on the stock WRX wheels and tires that came on our donor car. But those tires are nearly worn-out, too small, and too slippery for a track machine like the 818.
So, one of our first modifications will be bolting on these wheels, dubbed “Awesome” and “Wicked Awesome” from Mach V Motorsports. To accompany them, we ordered a set of Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 R tires in the staggered sizes of 255/35R18 and 235/40R17.
The only problem is this: we have no idea if these wheels and tires will fit on the 818. Hopefully we won’t have too much trouble with fitment, as fiberglass fenders are awfully hard to roll.
