I'm cheating. It's not my car, but for the Tail of the Dragon, I certainly drove it as such.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
It’s a saying as old as the internet itself. Or perhaps it goes back even further. Maybe Abe Lincoln once repeated it while studying for the bar: “Yo, dawg, four score and seven years ago, pics or didn’t happen.” Anyway, our recent SCCA Track Night in America outing at Daytona International Speedway in our 2019 Honda Civic Si didn’t exactly go as planned: The second time we hit the Turn 2 banking, the VSA seemed to freak out. The car still drove okay, but taking an abundance of caution, we pitted and just spectated for the rest of the evening. We still had fun, of course, as the SCCA fired up the grill right there on pitlane and started serving dinner.
Still, only two laps around Daytona doesn’t sound so grand, right? Where’s the glory in that?
But check out what we got: Dave Green, one of our regular photographers, happened to catch one of those passes. Now we have a photo of the Civic in one of the most iconic settings in motorsports. Thanks, Dave.
So, let’s turn this into show-and-tell: Have a cool photo of your car at speed? Welp, let’s see it.
One of me in the X1/9, and one of another member of this forum who does not know about the photo, taken by me in 1972 at McGuire AFB . Lets see if he spots it!
Autocross is all I have, hopefully permissible.
Last year. My first Miata.
This year. Last time out at Brooksville.
I've been de-stickering the car bit by bit since this photo. Can you guess which one I added?

I guess I need to buy a one month Photobucket deal, download all my shizz, then cancel it again.

Wow, that color.
There is a GRM sticker on there if you look close!
