About a year ago I was on my way home from an unsuccessful junkyard trip to find a window for my rabbit. I was driving down a 2-lane highway and a large dumptruck was passing my coming the other direction. Just before we passed a large chunk of retread flew off his tire and before I knew what was happening it hit my front bumper and hood. By the time I figured out what had happened and pulled over to the side of the road since my hood had popped up the truck was long gone.
My insurance wouldn’t cover the damage since I don’t have the right coverage for such an incident and I didn’t have the money at the time for a new hood and bumper cover so I did what anyone would do in the situation…rattle-canned my hood with an argyle pattern. It isn’t finished, after 8 hours of painting diamonds on my hood with a stencil I didn’t feel like adding the lines going through the diamonds and I still haven’t got around to it.
