1965 Hillman Imp

My little daily runabout. Bought an road legal Imp race car complete with a Datsun 1200 already engine in the back. But the chassis rails were bent badly from a crash. I then bought another Imp shell for $50 which was straight but pretty rusty. Restored that shell and fitted it out with parts from the race car plus an interior from another scrap Imp I’d bought. Its been my daily classic for a few years. Its been super reliable, very fun to drive on twisty roads and cheap to run thanks to the peppy little Datsun engine. Over the last 3 years (wow- time flies!!!) I have been re-engineering a 1988 Honda Goldwing 1500cc flat six engine to fit into the back- coupled up to a Subaru Leone 5 speed transaxle. It has been a very fun, engaging and interesting job. I’m not too far from finishing it (jinxed it now…) I have completed a few interesting engine conversions on other classics plus some other fun projects - you can read my other project build threads here… https://linktr.ee/yellowhammerworkshop Cheers alex
