1959 Berkeley SE492

My ‘59 Berkeley was modified with a tube chassis and rear drive. Originally, these little cars were front drive using a two-stroke British Motorcycle engine. This one was converted to rear drive by a previous owner. It is powered by a ‘88 Kawasaki NINJA 750 engine with the bike’s 6 speed gear box and is fun to drive! Does zero to 60 in less than 6 seconds, and I’ve been too scared to find the top end! 110mph in 5th gear @ 12,500 rpm was enough for me! It has been parked for well over 15 years now and I need to get it into the shop for some major body/paint work and an engine upgrade to a 1000cc BMW K100 and shaft drive to a narrowed Nissan 260Z rear axle.
