2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X GSR

My first brand-new car. I owe a lot of money because my (ex) wife had wrecked the trade-in. Good handling, great brakes, no road feel, mediocre throttle response. I thought drive-by wire was supposed to make cars more responsive, but it seems it’s being used for emission control, and can turn a 300hp car into a snoozemobile. Caused a lot of arguments, because my (ex) wife thought it didn’t live up to her idealized memory of the ‘96 240SX she wrecked (it was stock). Having autcrossed it a year, I’m not impressed with the traction control you can’t turn off or the active yaw control that makes the car twitch in mid-corner. And, Mitsubishi doesn’t stand behind their product.

At least my girlfriend likes it. It feels fast from the passenger seat.

RECARO stands behind their product. The seatbacks were replaced for free because of some fabric coming loose around the headrest area.

This car is starting to live up to my expectations, now that it has a Whiteline rear swaybar, and a turbo-back exhaust. NOW it feels like what I expected from the Evo name.
