Circuit of Reims-Gueux: The abandoned F1 circuit at the side of the road | Video

Race tracks forgotten to history often get reclaimed by nature, hiding deep in overgrown trees and tall grass, far from the public eye.

That’s not the case for Circuit of Reims-Gueux, however.

Located in the Champagne region of north-eastern France, the grandstands and pit lane of the former Formula 1 race track simply sit alongside the road–where anybody is welcome to stop by, free of charge.

Tim Traveller has a bunch of other great videos also.  This was one of his best.  He's recently been covering some really wierd glass busses that used to exist.  He talked about their history and how one was rumored to survive and then through his channel he learned of the last ones wear abouts and when it would be displayed and did another video about it.  He has links to support it's restoration which should be pretty cool.   He's pretty big into historic public transportation, infrastructure and industrial history and overall seems like he probably is one of us.   Gives those of us stateside a pretty good view of some wierd and obscure history in Europe.  Definitely worth a follow.

This video is very encouraging, as the circuit is in far nicer condition now than when I visited in 2003. Photo below taken July 2003 Fuji Color ASA100 Canon FT.
