Just found out about this. We were wondering why it was so quiet all afternoon yesterday (we live about five miles from the track and can hear the fuel cars running).

It was a BRUTAL crash.

where was the catch fence at the end? it looked like he just bypassed it and went into the wall

There should be a VERY large sand trap at the end, with a catch fence at the end of the sand trap. A concrete wall? WTF? That's not a track to run 300mph cars then.

Doesn't English town have a history of nasty crashes? That wall was been hit hard a few times if memory serves corectly.

There is a sand trap, but there is also a wall on the other side of it to stop cars from ending up in the public road that's about 100 ft from the sand traps.

I posted about this crash in the other loss thread, a service writer at worked had worked with this guy many times and he was an old friend of his. He was watching the video of the crash on YouTube, he couldn't say anything, it was sad.
