Every pilot in Vietnam wanted to be Robin Olds (with good reason.)
I read his memoirs a few years ago. Very good. He was an amazing combat pilot, leader, and dedicated patriot.
And now for the obligatory hot link:
I think this is a great screen grab from "High Hopes" on YT with David Gilmour and Richard Wright. This was a couple years before Richard passed.

I give you this:
Opel Kadett
Actually a Daewoo... in the US, badged as a Pontiac Le Mans.
I submit that car is farther from its namesake than the Pontiac Can Am was, as proposed by aircooled.

And ugly. But better looking than 5-10 years ago or so. I couldn't even make my brain see those things as cars.

That's an interesting photo. It's a colorized version, but it seems a bit off. They did carry and launch P-40's from the Chenango, but the positioning of the planes seems a bit bizarre. Specifically the forward most one. First, why is the engine running? That plane would have to be brought back to the catapult and there is now way it could taxi there. The one on the lower left looks to be in a good position to go to the catapult, but how would you get the forward one back there? I am not sure why someone would composite such a photo.
For some perspective, here is a shot of the same carrier with the P-40's on it an you can see positioning any planes on the right side of the bow would make launching planes very difficult. I guess the possibility is there is a perspective thing going on. The picture is taken from the superstructure and the forward most plane in the pic above looks to be on the nose, but is actually more in the position of the second plane back in the pic below. Clearly, the pic below is not the same cruise as the above photo. There is no way you could launch anything from the below pics. The bottom pic might be the same though, it seems like you could move things around to make the catapult clear.

And Daewoo was building them as designed by Opel, so it all works out.

Well, yeah. I think we all know he was a Porsche guy. Big auction and all that. The pic I posted was interesting because he was also a Skip Barber Racing School fan, and it was a soft marketing plug for Skip, when he still owned the school.
