In a press release boasting that the all-new 2025 M5 is currently undergoing testing on “public roads, BMW proving grounds, and racetracks around the world,” BMW also confirmed that the wagon version of the M5–the M5 Touring–will also be made available to American buyers:

American fans of the M brand have even more to look forward to – much more. Enthusiasts across the country have made their voices heard, and their wish has been granted. Today, BMW confirmed that the BMW M5 Touring will be available to customers in the US for the very first time.

Set to begin production in the fourth quarter of this year, the 2025 M5 Touring will, like its sedan counterpart, feature a hybrid drivetrain “closely related to the one found in the BMW M Hybrid V8 GTP race car.”

BMW also notes that the move to a hybrid setup aligns with the M Division’s path towards electrification, with Dirk Häcker, Head of Development at BMW M, adding "We are now also installing a hybrid drive system with typical M performance in other high-performance cars."

No information about pricing has yet been released, though based on the starting MSRP of the current-gen M5, expect pricing of the M5 Touring to start at over $100,000.

At any rate, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll get a chance to spot the M5 Touring testing on public roads in the near future.

I hope that BimmerWorld gets one and gives it the GTMore treatment–long roof race cars are always cool.

BMW does offer Daytona Violet on a couple of models, so here's to hoping it makes it to the M5 Touring, too.

As a BMW Touring owner, kinda surprised my dad hasn’t yet sent me an e-mail about this.

No way I can afford it, but cool to see it coming to the US.

Will be interesting to see how it stacks up vs. the RS6 Avant. Many moons ago I had an E39 528 Touring and boy did I love that car.
