What’s it like to drive the famed Porsche 917K, and how did it lead to the latest 963 hybrid prototype race car?
The legendary Hurley Haywood catalogs the history of the 917K and its evolution, including how it served as a camera car for the film "Le Mans".

So, a little behind-the-scenes info here.
A friend at Porsche invited us to this shoot: the new 963 with the iconic 917K.
The only ask was that embargo our footage of the two cars until Porsche video broke. Fine, we can do that. They gave us a timetable for that.
As I walked up to the cars, Hurley starts waving in my direction.
So I turned to see who he was waving at.
It was me!
Hurley is one of the kindest people out there. We all chatted and then he shot the video with Chris, our video editor–no setup, no P.R. people involvement. This video is just Hurley being Hurley.

That must have felt pretty awesome to get recognized like that.
And cool that you got an unfiltered interview with Hurley.
