I've been looking for a "good enough" classic pick up for various projects.  Not so rough I am embarrassed by it, but  not too good to use as a truck.  I've looked at Fords, but everything is quite expensive.  I stumbled across this 1988 GMC Sierra, and pulled the trigger on it yesterday.

It's pretty solid.  Will need some metal work on the box, but the floors and frame and cab corners are good.  I'm excited to make it a family project -- my daughter isn't that interested in any of our cars, but she's all over the truck.  I am surprised by how small it is compared to a modern truck, and how basic it is.  I think the two-tone paint and the 305/auto combo are the only options.

Goals:  reliable.  Looks good enough.  Can be used as a work truck without worrying about it.

I'm in, love trucks being used as trucks.
