Re-seasoning rusty cast iron

I always love the change with the first coat.

And done after two days and six coats.

A reminder of what we started with.

You win some, you lose some. Talking to neighbor scrapper yesterday I asked if he ever comes across cast iron. Today he left this at my door. 

Did my self clean on the oven and what I thought was a scratch on the bottom turn into this crack going all the way though.

I have one with a crack near the handle I got as a package deal at an estate sale. Think I can grind out and burn some rod to fix it? Maybe braize a repair into it?

If it wasn't on the bottom I'd rock it.  I'm not sure it would be worth the effort to fix.
